CEC Leader’s fight against unwanted plans

Michael Jones, Leader Cheshire East Council, writes in the Knutsford Guardian:

AS your council leader I am delighted to announce our continued fight against unplanned, unsustainable and speculative developments has now taken a major step forward.

We have just approved our five-year housing land supply (Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment).

This means the council should now have a solid defence against speculative developers who are seeking to build unwanted homes – driven purely for profit – on Cheshire East’s beautiful countryside.   ………….( read his whole letter here ),

What next?

The current consultation is now over.  LoveGoostrey would like to thank all who took the time to comment.  We have put a list of comments that were posted online below, which shows there was a unanimous rejection of being classed as a ‘Local Service Centre’.  We have had more comments about Goostrey than some of the other ‘Strategic sites’ in Cheshire East, which just goes to show the depth of feeling in the village.

360 homes approved on Sustainable Village greenfield

Strategic Planning Board approves 360 homes on greenfield site in Sustainable Village

A CAMPAIGN group has slammed a decision to approve plans for 360 homes on the outskirts of Wybunbury, known as The Triangle.

Several hundred letters of objection from residents and the parish council carried no weight, according to the local campaign group who argued that the development would strip their village of its rural character.
