Important week for Goostrey residents

On Tuesday evening the Parish Council will debate and formulate the council’s response to the Local Plan implications for the whole of Goostrey: 12th Feb Village Hall 7.30pm (public forum before and after)

And LoveGoostrey encourages all residents to attend one of the Council’s Local Plan Public Consultation information events: Wednesday or Saturday –

Wednesday 13th Feb Village Hall 4.00-8.00pm

or

Saturday 16th Feb Village Hall 10.00-3.00pm

LoveGoostrey believes that Goostrey has been wrongly classed as a Local Service Centre (LSC) (which would bring a higher level of development than a Sustainable Village).  We have been classed as an LSC alongside Holmes Chapel , whereas in reality we in Goostrey (and other surrounding villages) consider that Holmes Chapel is our Local Service Centre.  Cheshire East Council has considered Goostrey to include Cranage, Twemlow and Swettenham in its population assessment, whereas in reality we are separate villages. We believe that Goostrey should have been discounted as an LSC due to its proximity to Holmes Chapel.  We are not opposed to development of the village, but that it should be done sensitively to maintain our village community.
