Boles letter re Shavington appeal

The findings of the appeal for 880 houses at Shavington’s Gresty Lane, which starts today, could be critical.  Before leaving the planning post, Nick Boles wrote to the Inspector concerned to give “especial attention to the evidence put forward by all parties on the five year housing land supply position across Cheshire East”.

  1. I see Nick Boles has moved on in the recent Cameron re-shuffle. Brandon Lewis is the new Housing and Planning Minister.

  2. Yes, planning has been given greater priority in the ministerial hierarchy; Brandon Lewis is now Minister of State for Housing and Planning. Nick Boles was ‘only’ Parliamentary Under Sec of State for Planning. Penny Mordaunt MP is now Parliamentary Under Sec of State for planning under Brandon Lewis at the DCLG.
