Many thanks from the Scouts to all who took grubby cars along to the Scout car wash last Saturday 23 April. They raised over £650 towards the new Scout Hut and Youth Centre!
Then, the following day, more than £200 was received in generous donations for hotdogs, bacon baps and cakes at the St George’s Day brunch after the St George’s Day service at St Luke’s on 24 April.
Group Scout Leader David Giles said: “I was proud to see a very good turn-out of young people from all the sections of Goostrey Scouts and Goostrey Guiding at the St George’s Day parade on Sunday. I should also like to extend my thanks to all who made kind donations and to the volunteers who helped to serve the delicious Brunch fayre. Every pound raised goes towards turning our dream of a new Scout Hut and Youth Centre in Goostrey into reality. Contributions of more than £150 from the collections in the March Money Box initiative at Cubs and Beavers brought the total raised in these three initiatives to more than £1000..
But the quest for funding continues, so do please continue to support their next fundraising events initiatives. Donations can also be made directly to the Scout Hut and Youth Centre at: https://mydonate.bt.com/charities/1stgoostreyscoutgroup
