[updated] It looks like The Crown will continue to trade after the current operators’ lease runs out next month; Marston’s Business Development Manager states, “Unfortunately the current tenant has decided not to renew their agreement moving forward but the pub will not be closing. We are currently recruiting to find suitable people to take on the business and hope to have a back to back handover in the future.”
’16 Hospitality’ have been running the Goostrey pub but are due to hand over their keys on the 8th September.
Knutsford Guardian 9th Aug 2017: A spokesman for 16 Hospitality said: “It is with great sadness that we are announcing the end of our lease agreement at The Crown Inn, in Main Road. “We entered into negotiations with the owners of the premise, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to reach an agreement that would be suitable for both parties and have had to make the business decision not to renew our lease.
“We understand the pub will continue to trade after we have left on 8th September. Whilst some of our hard-working team are likely to continue to work at The Crown we are also discussing opportunities for some to continue their growth within 16 Hospitality as the wider business develops.”
The group also runs The Swan in Tarporley, The Partridge in Stretton, The Oyster Catcher, and a further two locations in Anglesey.
