Brereton Hall plans for hotel withdrawn

The planning application to change the use of Brereton Hall from a private home into a wedding/conference centre with 12 bedroom hotel has been withdrawn.  There had been substantial opposition locally as well as from Fiona Bruce MP.  The EA had suggested refusal over its worries for the local water vole population as the proposals also involve constructing a new access road.

A local resident had said, “This is our Parish’s ‘Jewel in the crown’, one of the last few restored privately owned grand houses with a Grade 1 listing within Cheshire East”.      Link to Brereton Life webpage.
