Scorching weather for gardens

We can hardly imagine it raining during this heatwave but while we enjoy the beautiful blue sky (before grey skies and drizzle take over) we also want to try and preserve our gardens.

There is no point wasting water on watering the grass, it will bounce back with the first downpour; in the meantime we can enjoy not having to mow it! (Leaving the box off and leaving any clippings on the lawn will help give it a few nutrients in dry weather.)

But pots and plants are a different thing.  Here are a few suggestions – you may know more useful tips:
