Petition to amend the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and uphold local democratic decision making
We are aware that Cheshire East’s Local Plan is not yet ready but even in areas of the country where a Local Plan is in place it seems that through the NPPF [National Planning Policy Framework] the key word is “sustainability”, overriding all other considerations. Developers are winning approval, often on appeal, for unwanted developments against the wishes of local residents who cherish their surroundings. And as you may have read on the previous post the Department of Communities and Local Government are proposing to relax the planning regs even further in the countryside.
However, there is now a national petition [started in fact in the Cheshire East area], which you can easily sign on-line, calling on the government to amend the NPPF before the damage goes to far. Please sign and forward it to your friends and families:
