My interview with Pat Ingram who is part of the Jodrell WI Institute was very insightful.
The institute was founded in 1970 by a group of ladies and I believe there is one lady left from the original group. There are 67 members of the WI and they meet on a monthly basis on a Tuesday. They have monthly meetings/speakers/social time/various outings- including those to the National Trust.
During the pandemic they would meet for a ‘craft and chat’ outside in groups of six. They also helped make scrubs, laundry bags for the NHS and masks and ear protectors for local care homes. Those WI ladies who didn’t sew donated sheets, elastic and buttons to keep us going.
If you would like join the Jodrell WI Institute, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact 01477 535833 where you will be invited to a meeting.
