There was a resounding success for the Neighbourhood Plan at the count tonight with 97.2% of voters in favour.
858 residents voted in all, at the polling booth or by post, which is 46.38% of residents on Goostrey’s electoral register. (834 voted “YES”, 21 voted No and 3 papers were deemed invalid) Click photos taken at the count to enlarge:
Please use your vote. The parish council took a proactive approach for the future of Goostrey in drawing up a Neighbourhood Plan. Designed to reflect the wishes of residents in the parish it will sit alongside the Local Plan and be used in all planning decisions.
A “YES” vote by residents today will be the best defence against predatory developers!
