Enjoy a charity fun day with a difference on Saturday 8 June 2013. The event called the Red Lion Project is being organised by fifteen year-old Michaela Garnett, who along with a group of her friends, felt that not enough young people support charities and so decided to do something about it. The event is in aid of the charity DEBRA, Help for Heroes, Marie Curie, MS Trust and the RSPCA.
The charity fun day will start at 12noon with plenty of activities for the whole family, including: face and nail painting, a dog show, eating competition, treasure hunt, bouncy castle, arts and crafts, lucky dip, cake auction and raffle, which includes a jumper worn by a Coronation Street cast member and signed photograph of David Cameron. Then at 6.00pm activities for adults will begin with a yard of ale competition, innuendo bingo and a sponsored leg wax (for men only).
Money raised by the charity fun day will enable the charities to get the funding they need to carry on doing the essential work that no one else pays them to do.
