Another rousing success for the annual Goostrey Christmas Lights Switch-on; raising £1100 towards the new Scout Hut and Youth Centre.
It was crisp and clear on Sunday evening on the Bog Bean when residents were treated to festive music by the Rode Hall Band, joining in singing Christmas carols, and children were able to have a word in Santa’s ear.
Delicious BBQ fayre, mulled wine and hot drinks were served by the Scouting team and wonderful home made cakes were served by volunteers from Goostrey Guiding.
The new Scout Hut and Youth Centre is gradually taking shape and should be completed in the Spring.
Group Scout Leader, David Giles said “ Thank you very much to all who helped and all who attended for your continuing to support the young people of our community and for making the Christmas Lights and Carols event such a success.”
