The Methodist church in Goostrey,  has not been able to perform a “Churches Together” presence with their friends at St Luke’s church Goostrey, at events such as those in the pervious years. The  Palm Sunday Walk, Rose Day Stall, Covenant Service, Plough Service, and Education Sunday, this past year, have not  been possible. Due to Covid Lockdown.

However, the aforementioned has not stopped Goostrey Methodist church being “Church”. It has reminded us that “Church” is not the building, but the people. By embracing technology they have still been able to worship from home, and share fellowship with their sister churches in the Dane & Trent Circuit, by means of weekly virtual services on YouTube and via Zoom. For this and weekly pastoral letters they are grateful to the Superintendent Minister, Yvonne Pearson for the work she has done, to ensure that all remain connected and cared for. The local Pastoral Care team has also continued to give support wherever needed.

Hopefully we are all  at last beginning to see the light at the end of the Lockdown tunnel, as the effects of the impressive vaccination roll out begin to show, and both Goostrey Methodist church and St.Luke’s Parish church look forward in faith, to the time when they may reopen doors on a permanent basis of their respective churches, and welcome all.

For details of the virtual services on the Methodist site, and a wealth of information about what is going on in local Methodism, why not visit the Dane and Trent Circuit website at . All are Welcome!

Sounds great news that things maybe going in the right direction
    Fingers crossed.
It will be nice as I am sure a lot of other people also think that we can get back under rules that we can all
    Adhere to.
    And social distance.
