Great turn out for Opening Ceremony

The oldest and youngest Scouts (Terence Rathbone and young Alfie Warren) helped Fiona Bruce declare the new 1st Goostrey Scouts’ hut and youth centre open today, in front of a large gathering of villagers and supporters.
Goostrey Parish Council, having gifted the site to the Scouts originally and providing a donation of £50,000, and representative from the landfill charity WREN (which also awarded a generous grant of £50,000) also attend the opening ceremony.
Congratulations and ‘well done’ to Scout Leader David Giles who thanked everyone for their support and hard work over the last three years to provide a marvellous facility available for the young people of Goostrey saying that it will be filled with fun and laughter over the many years to come.  ( And pointed out that it also includes a meeting room that is available to hire!)
Donations can be made directly to the Scout Hut and Youth Centre at

Amazing. I just love it. We remember the old one many years ago by the bridge.
