Houses between 51/61 Main Rd refused again

CEC have refused permission for an additional 6 homes behind the two houses now under construction opposite the entrance to Mount Pleasant.
Policies in the emerging Goostrey Neighbourhood Plan are quoted in the Officer’s report and the Decision refusal notice states that the development would be “unsustainable because it would impair the efficiency of the Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope and this impact is considered to significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of the scheme.”
A prior application for houses on this site had previously been refused by CEC following opposition from JBO.

It is encouraging to see that the Neighbourhood Plan is being taken into consideration in planning decisions already. However it is the potential impact on Jodrell Bank which is the key consideration again. I do wonder whether any of the proposed sites in Goostrey are actually deliverable for the remaining 20+ houses quoted in the Neighbourhood Plan. It will be interesting to hear about any comments Jodrell Bank have during the ‘Regulation 14’ process.
