Lowe’s Farm Shop is a lovely family run business, which has been established for over 60 years, and is set in the stunning rural location of Byley. As you drive in, it feels like a little village, with a variety of amenities to keep you entertained. The 250 acre farm itself contains 200 beef cattle, pigs and sheep.

I got to meet with owners Graham and Tracey Lowe, who informed me that the farm shop was started by Graham’s parents in 1960, and his mother started Lowe’s Farm Shop, with a small home grown vegetable stall in the yard area, moving on in the early 80’s  to a stall at Crewe market for twenty years. The Farm Shop sells a wide range of homegrown vegetables, and in addition, a great choice of other local food products. This year, Lowe’s will be opening their own butchers, sourcing their own meat.

In 2011 Lowe’s Farm Shop expanded into a purpose built area, which has now been extended further, to include the fabulous Ginger & Pickles Tea Room, which opened in 2020 and has been a huge success. The Tea Room includes an outdoor seating area and a courtyard. In addition to the cafe, Lowe’s Farm Shop has three unique log cabins which include: Ingledew Therapy, Tasche Keys Beauty Therapy, and Cheshire Wardrobe Boutique.

Additionaly you can find at Lowe’s Farm Shop Field Smiths premium country clothing, Four Oaks Direct quality plants at great prices, Frame – a picture framing studio – and a stunning new boutique gift shop. Cheshire Clay Collective is also in residence, and specialises in pottery classes and workshops.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lowe’s chatting to Graham and Tracey, and finding out the history of Lowe’s and how the Farm Shop has gone from strength to strength. If you are looking for a great afternoon out, then Lowe’s is the place!
