In these challenging times St Lukes’s shares a positive light going forward and how parishioners have communicated with each other during lockdown.

Meetings via zoom have taken place during these last few weeks and we have enjoyed music, talks, sharing, prayer, news and laughter over the internet. We have kept in touch with our other church family members who could not access zoom via typed handouts.

We had a special service on Mothering Sunday where the children took part. It was lovely to distribute flowers that weekend to those who could not pick them up from the church itself. Folk were so pleased and so appreciative!

Subsequently we have had beautiful flowers donated from the Co-op store this week. A big thank you to them and to Alison Wright for remembering us. Our church building continues to be open for people to come and sit, reflect and pray and ask for prayer too.

Tuesday 23rd March marks the anniversary of Lockdown last year and Marie Curie has partnered with the Church of England to call people to have a day of reflection for all we have been through the last twelve months.

Looking forward, we will be in church for our first “live” service on Palm Sunday, 28th March, where we will be distributing Palm Crosses and marking the beginning of Holy Week as we remember Jesus Christ’s last week on earth before the Crucifixion.

There will be a variety of services and activities for the children through this week, culminating in Easter Day services at 8 am and 10 am. If you would like to join us please contact me on 532619.

May I wish you a hope – filled Easter time!

Warm Wishes
