Clare Downing, a resident of Goostrey who previously organised Open Gardens in Lymm, Cheshire for over 10 years, would like to propose the following idea for Goostrey Village:
“I would love to know if people are interested in opening their gardens one afternoon in Summer 2022 for a charitable cause.
Spare time over lockdown has provided so many of us with the opportunity to enhance our outdoor spaces.
The event is a chance for people to tour 10 gardens in Goostrey villlage in one afternoon.
All revenue from ticket sales would be donated to a local charity, and we would ensure that each host garden is insured for public liability etc.
The ticket price would include a map of the village with the locations marked together with a brief description.
I would be looking for a variety of gardens to make the event interesting and entertaining- from large to pocket sized, cottage garden, traditional to modern.
In addition, to add to the fun and interest, each garden host could host their own mini event if they wanted to raise additional funds for their own favourite charity. Mini events in the past have included afternoon teas, plant sales, Pimm’s and raffles”. Said Clare.
If you are interested in taking part, or helping her to organise the event please contact Clare Downing email@example.com or call 07966 160079 , she would love to hear from you.
