SOUPS, SONGS AND SANTA

The residents at Mount Pleasant Park were delightfully surprised by a cheery scene on December 16th, as Bill Macdonald, who lives with his wife Mavis, on the site, paired up with Reverend Heather Buckley of St.Lukes Parish Church, on a nostalgic glide around Longshoot, The Oaks, The Meadow and Alison drive.

Volunteers from the ‘Drop In’ at St.Luke’s regularly serve free soup on the park for the senior citizens there, so to have a guy in a red suit with a beard and the Vicar mask-clad, and volunteers too, on a colourful sleigh playing traditional Christmas songs, was uplifting for all the ‘young at heart’ that grey day. Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas to you all.

The parsnip soup served mid-December by the volunteers from ‘Drop In’ was delicious and a lovely surprise.

A lady commented, who smiled when served it at The Oaks.
